Donated Soccer Gear heads for Kenya on March 16th!

Go Pentucket Soccer would like to extend a warm thank you to everyone who donated soccer gear in the recent collection for our friends at Peace Passers. You will be happy to learn that the gear was recently sent to Partners for Care in Atlanta, GA and will be carried into Kenya March 16th to support the development of youth soccer in the region! Recently Partners in Care caught up with Go Pentucket Soccer and was able to extend the following thank you letter

Hi Joe,

I just wanted to thank you for your recent donation of soccer gear and apparel through PeacePassers! When the boxes arrived at our PFC home office a couple of weeks ago, we were thrilled to see all the wonderful jerseys, shorts, soccer balls, pumps, pennies, etc. It was like Christmas in February! The Partners for Care soccer teams in Kenya have been growing in number as we invite more and more kids in the slums to participate. Most of these kids live in slums or on the street and don't have the financial means to attend school. So they end up walking the streets idly passing the time with nothing to do and often end up gravitating to drugs, theft, and alcohol. Soccer represents a way out of the destructive lifestyle and an opportunity to be a part of a team where they feel a sense of belonging and where they learn valuable life skills (not just how to play the game of soccer!).

Our sports ministry had recently reached a point of having no available practice or game jerseys for the new teams we are launching, so the donation from Pentucket Soccer Club was a HUGE blessing at just the right time! Our founder, Connie Cheren, will be returning to Kenya March 16th with a missions team and they will give all the new soccer gear to the PFC teams then. We'll be sure to take pictures of the kids with all their new stuff and send them to you to share with everyone who contributed on your end!

Until then, I just wanted you to know how grateful we are to you, the kids, and the community who banded together to make this happen!
